Happy Halloween, BSFUC guys and ghouls!

Just a quick update...

I apologize for and am helpless to stop all the F@#$ing spam that is now plaguing the Talk To Dan & Dave forum. If anyone has any suggestions...

On a brighter note, Dan and I have finally officially signed off on an option agreement for the BSFUC TV series. All this means is that we now have a deal in place so that our guy can shop it. Big long shot, but these things can open doors, and they usually have for us. So we'll see. I know I sort of announced this earlier, but the paperwork hadn't been done yet, and we hit a few snags.

Anyway, that will happen, but we dig being in business with Don, and have the utmost faith in him as a creative force.

To that end, I've also just finalized the deal on my script Raw Power, which I also indicated was a done deal, but was not. After a lengthy and draining process, we finally got that one done as well. RP is based fictionally on Henry Rollins's friendship with Joe Cole, before Joe's tragic murder in the early '90s, and set against the Reagan era punk scene, when bands just did it themselves, got in the van, and toured with no money or sponsorship. A far cry from the corporate brats who call themselves "punk" nowadays, only vaguely aware of the trailblazers like Henry et al who made anarchy so profitable years later.

So there's that.

Well, I have to go trick or treat now. Hope you're all well. Good things are coming. Stick with us.

Dan is now story boarding the Get Smart remake. Hey, Steve Carell is starring, so that's a good thing. Dan's flying in from Canada tonight. His life is vastly more interesting than mine.

We've had no time to work on new animations the past couple of months, but we hope to rectify that. Our agent/manager Cathryn (she repped Tarantino thru Pulp Fiction) is setting up meetings for the CCA animation. If you have a God, or if you're dyslexic and pray to a Dog, please put in a word for us.

Peace in All Things Ugly.

Your pals, Dan and Dave

Yo, BSFUCers, long time.

Lots going on, which I may have touched on in the last communiqueá, but I'm too lazy to check, so forgive me if I'm repeating myself.

First off, you've probably noticed there hasn't been a new animation in a while. This is mainly because Dan is quite engulfed in his work, being one of the most in-demand storyboard artists in Hollywood. He's currently boarding the new Steve Carell pic "Get Smart," which is in pre-production, and will be doing some second-unit directing when things fire up. So we're "on hiatus," as the Hollywood Pretentite are wont to quip, but will get back to it when time permits.

We're also closing the option agreement contract of the BSFUC television project, which I wrote the pilot for. We're very pleased with how it came out, and for those of you scoring at homeand I know there are a lot of you who'll be interested, as I see all over the internet that this one is a fan fave—the pilot episode revolves around "Beneath the Useless Universe."

Dan and I both like that one a lot, and we're glad so many of you do as well. Often times it seems all anyone knows is the CCA trilogy, or even just the first one. And many times I've come across folks who aren't even aware that the clown tales are part of the larger BSFUC canon.

Oh, well. I stopped worrying about that long ago.

So we'll keep you posted on the arduous journey that the BSFUC TV ordeal promises to be. But like I mentioned in the Talk to Dan and Dave forum, it's in very good hands, and we're looking forward to its new incarnation.

For those of you not scoring along at home, BSFUC was once in the hands of Mel Gibson's Icon Productions, back in the mid-Nineties. We met constantly for a year, and brought in several talented writers to adapt the stories for teleplays. Mel was going to direct, and I wrote two different versions of Universe, the second based on Mel's notes. Jim Carrey's people said he would play Death if Mel was directing. I remember that meeting. Everyone was so excited. Then they told Mel, and he literally sneered and said, "Ehh, I don't like Jim Carrey." This was right as Carrey was becoming a mogul. Dan and I just pretty much died. Then Mel went off to do "Ransom," and that was that.

But I did get to talk to Faye Dunaway, who called me to talk about optioning "Psychotronic Virgin," which she wanted to direct and star in, along with her buddy Gerard Depardieu (sp?), as a 1/2 hour indie special for Showtime. But then she went off to do Master Class on Broadway, and I never heard back. Still, it was pretty cool getting called by Faye Dunaway.

While waiting to see what happens with BSFUC, and waiting to dive back into the animations, I'm rewriting my script Raw Power, based on the early days of punk in L.A., and telling a story based on Henry Rollins' days with Black Flag, and his relationship with Joe Cole, who was tragically murdered a couple years before I started the script.

The script has also been optioned by the producer who optioned BSFUC.

So there you have it. That's all the poop that's fit to poop. To you ugly faithful who've been with us from the start, and who keep posting all the wonderful positive and supportive posts, we thank you, ask you to continue your patience, and promise to make that elusive collected-works republishing quest a reality. Seriously, you're all very cool for sticking with us, and for getting us. UGLY INCARNATE, as it were.

And for any newcomers, and I know there are those, welcome. I see a lot of kids just discovering the books, and that's very cool. If nothing else, BSFUC has always had a long shelf life, and if we succeed in getting them back out there, I'm sure our legions will grow.

Tell a friend.

All for now. Any thoughts or ideas, comments or questions, please feel free to post on the Ask D & D forum, and I'll reply as promptly as I can.

T.J......what fuck?

Your Ugly Overlords,

Dave & Dan

Yo, BSFUCers, long time no write. Sorry about that. Well, here's what's up..

The new animation, Memories With Nick, seems to be well received and streaming just fine, which is cool. Two more are in the works: Ask Joey Punchinello, and a two-parter called Nunzilla, both of which should be up within a couple of weeks, mainly depending on Dan's workload. He's currently boarding two different films, one of which is Get Smart, starring Steve Carell. I'll keep you posted.

I've also just finished scripting a spec pilot for a BSFUC television series (live action) that is being shepherded by Don Argott, the man behind the brilliant documentary Rock School, which you should all check out immediately. Hopefully we'll get it set up and I won't have to go back to a "real job." Additionally, another script of mine was just optioned as well, so good things are happening in the merry old land of BSFUC and its neighboring suburbs.

Still working on getting the books republished in collected works form, and are open to any suggestions you may have regarding which publishers may be most receptive. Just post them on the Talk To Dan & Dave page.

Otherwise, keep spreading the word about the web site, and let us know what you think.

ZEPPELIN RULES! HAVE A BITCHEN SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy, BSFUCers, and welcome to our brand new big incredible ultra-deluxe home page, featuring a newly revamped BSFUC NATION, the very thing I'm writing right now...as I write this. This thing I'm writing. Right now. BSFUC NATION.

This will be a page for Dan and I to give our ugly little orphaned fans a shout out to let you know what rocks in the sad and mysterious worlds of Dan and Dave, and to update you on upcoming animations, republishings, appearances, disappearances, political candidacies, arraignments, indictments, plea bargains, and appeals for bail monies in return for autographed crap.

The most recent news is that BSFUC was picked up to be republished. Unfortunately, the would-be publisher went bankrupt soon after coming into contact with us, and now the deal is off. Good to know that our reverse Midas touch is still intact!

So while we search for another publisher, Dan and I are working away on more animations. Two are in progress: one quite long, and the other quite short.

I hope I didn't just ruin it for you.

Dan is also currently storyboarding a couple of movies in Hollywood, while I'm gloriously unemployed for the nonce, having been fired for my left-wing views on Vietnam. So it's off to France, then Ireland for this boy shortly, then back to scripting more Cotton Candy Autopsy shorts, which we'll eventually shop for television.

Until then, feel free to contact us on the Talk To D & D board and let us know what you think of the new site, and what you'd like to see added. We read all of your messages and are very interested in what you have to say.

Well, mostly.

Much love to our Ugly Legions...

Dan & Dave
